Welcome to Urban Gardens!  We are a family owned and operated, full scope, landscape design/build firm.

Originating in Washington DC and Northern VA in the mid 1990's, Urban Gardens first gained recognition in the landscape industry for the unique custom water feature and water fall projects we created. A local demand for skilled designers and craftsman brought us back to the Baltimore community, where we have continued to stamp our mark on the area.

Dean Smouse, founder and designer, prides himself on creating outdoor living spaces that extend and reflect the architecture of finer custom built homes, and that can also accent Baltimore's restored historical homesteads.  Attention to detail in both design and material selection allows Urban Gardens to create spaces that blur the lines between interior and exterior.

Everything you can imagine is real, Pablo Picasso and Urban Gardens would add possible.  Working with a design build firm to plan, manage and construct the landscape in which you will spend the most precious times with family and friends will never be a more fulfilling experience.
